The aim of the project is to purchase specialized equipment allowing for thermal and mechanical machining of special and microstructural optical fibers.
Thanks to this, the Polish Center for Photonics and Fiber Optics will be able to enrich its offer with services in the field of welding and narrowing of special and microstructural fibers, as well as the production of fiber optic elements of various types, e.g. fan in/out, interferometers, combiners or mode adaptors. As a result, the research potential of the Polish Center for Photonics and Fiber Optics as well as companies and institutions using the above-mentioned services will be increased, which will allow the development of innovative fiber optic solutions for telecommunications, sensor solutions and specialized light sources. Solutions of this type are sought in many fields of industry, medicine, telecommunications, as well as in scientific and research works.
